No Exercise, but Rest

Posted by Cecile at 5/14/2012 09:56:00 PM 0 comments
I have gotten used to exercising once a day for at least half an hour, but today I didn't do it due to being sick. I felt guilty not being able to walk today :-/.  Not walking today made me eat a little better. I ate little and rested, too. I feel much better now and hopefully, I would be able to walk/exercise again tomorrow. Sad to say, that I even cancelled/rescheduled my lab work this morning to next week. The headache caused by my PMS and colds made me feel worst this morning. Thank goodness, after I took a nap this afternoon, I felt much better now. I learned today that pushing yourself into doing something you normally do even for the health sake is not good for the health. Taking a break and having a restful sleep instead is better.

Pain on Lower Part of Hips

Posted by Cecile at 5/07/2012 07:43:00 AM 0 comments
Today, my friend and I went for a walk in the park. It took us an hour and ah half to finish walking around the pond and back home. I felt good inside though fr whatever reason the lower part of my hips were aching. Good thing that as soon as I sat down on the couch the pain went away. I wonder why it hurt so much. I have been walking for a week now, but I have had pain on my lower hips till today. I was thinking that maybe it 's because my body is building muscles which is good. I couldn't wait ti that muscle building is over, then I would be able to lose weight afterward :-).

Unhealthy Foods

Posted by Cecile at 2/17/2012 05:03:00 PM 0 comments
While I was browsing on my facebook account, I can't help but have noticed this image. It is mind bugging. To think that these foods are widely eaten by most people everyday. I am not fond of these foods at all nor serve it to my family. I came from a family who eats healthy foods such as veggies, meat, fish and seafood. So when I came here to the US, I was surprised that my husband likes them a lot, not realizing how bad they are for your body...I started eating them, too. Don't get me wrong, but still I can't live eating these foods a lot. I still crave for the foods I grew up eating. Good thing I was able to teach my son and hubby to love healthy foods. Now, they eat veggies and fresh fruits and seafood a lot.

Anyway, even though these foods are everywhere, and it is very tempting to eat them often...I was able to deprived my family of these cancer - causing foods. They are yummy alright, but more often...yummy foods are not always healthy and good for your body. Now, is the time to eat healthy and take care of you health.

Not So Happy Day

Posted by Cecile at 1/27/2012 06:15:00 PM 0 comments
Today was hubby's first day to work on swing shift which ia from 12noon to 12am. It would be beneficial for him because he gets to sleep at night instead of morning where everyone is awake. I didn't really approved of his choice to work on a swing shift because it means no more Saturday family bonding time...less time with Jacob and no time to help the moving in and out of members in the Kaufman ward. He said that this new schedule is just a trial; that if it didn't work the schedule will be back to the way it was. I am crossing my fingers on that.

Anyway, with regards to my day, I had fun with my friends. Today was our girls day out. Went to another friend's house to have a pedicure and manicure, ate lunch and went to the mall with our kids afterward. Jacob had fun at school as well as at the play place at the mall with Aaron. The only thing that happened with me today which I am not happy about is that I feel weak and my PMS is very heavy. I am pretty sure that my blood count is low again.

Food and Diet on Holiday

Posted by Cecile at 12/25/2011 12:14:00 PM 2 comments
Our Christmas was spent at friends house this year. And we had so much fun! I like that we don't get to cook, clean up. I just brought a dish to share. After eating, we did talk,  sang karaoke, and watched the kids play and sing as well. On New year's eve, we have the same just because January first is my friend's birthday. It would be celebrated together with hubby's and Earnest birthday as well which fall on January. Anyway, we are all excited for it and for our trip to Branson this week. With all these special occasions, there would be plenty of foods. I need to take it easy on sweets, carbs and fats to avoid blood sugar spikes. Hubby and I plan to sart dieting after New Year comes.

Deli Food Made Us Sick

Posted by Cecile at 12/17/2011 09:05:00 AM 0 comments
Last night, we decided to do some grocery shopping for the dinner I will make on Sunday for my friend who gave birth to a baby boy. I have promised her that I will bring them dinners as soon as the baby is born. While at the store, I told hubby that I feel like eating rotisserie chicken for dinner. And so we did. We bought fried chicken instead since the boys want it. With chicken, we also got some okra stew to go with it. When we got home, we ate our dinner right away for we were all staving. To our dismayed, the fried chicken was dried and the okra was good compared to the ones at Pops Chicken in Terrel.

Early this morning, I started to pass gas followed by stomachache similar to what we got when we went to the Philippines this summer. With that experienced at Brookshire, we decided that that would be our first and last time to get some food at their deli. My good husband gave me a fiber rich drink, and I feel a little better now. Thank goodness I am home. I hate it when it hits me while outside. I am glad J didn't get what we got because he didn't eat as much.

Blessed with Great Doctors

Posted by Cecile at 9/07/2011 06:57:00 PM 0 comments
About three weeks ago, my gynecologist did a Novasure in me. This procedure was requested by my transplant doctor because it is necessary. My monthly period had left me anemic. I suffered severe anemia because of heavy bleeding during my period. I was always tired, dizzy, no energy to do anything and I was always weak. And so, after two years of bleeding excessively, we decided that it is time to do the right thing. Thank God, I agreed to do the procedure, now I am stronger than I've ever been. I am physically active again, happy and no more bed rest and things like that. I am so blessed to have such doctors who look after my health making sure that my health is taken care of. It is nice to be back to my old self again.
