The Convenieces Offer by Mailboxes
I have been living in United States for almost 12 years now and I am loving it. I have totally adjusted to my new way of live though it is completely opposite on the how I lived my life 11 years ago. With all the conveniences of modern technology offers me as a wife and mother, I am not sure anymore whether I can go back to my old life back in the country where I was born and raised. I grew up in a country where everything is simple. Mailman delivers the mail the old fashioned way, no apartment complex, internet connection is very limited, they means of transportation is still the same (tricycles, buses, and trains. No wonder mails are received very slowly. To get the mail expedited, you will need to go to the nearby city, and pay expensive fees!
When I came to the U.S., my husband and I lived in an apartment for six months before we moved in to our first house. We got our mail through private mailboxes located in the apartment complex. I like the way they deliver the mail. It was safe and protected. I am pretty sure the manager/owner of the apartment complex got the private distribution mailboxes at auth florence mailboxes direct. This company sells all kinds of mailboxes in different sizes, shapes, and materials. Anyway, though we now live in a house with our own choice of mailbox, I still feel that it is safe to use private distribution mailboxes for the mails are safe and protected. Nobody can get our mails, but us especially when we are away for days or so. As I browse in the website, I've found out that we can buy our own mailbox at auth florence for a fair price. I need to convince my husband to see if he will let me buy a new mailbox from this website. I am crossing my fingers with a hope that he would agree :-).

Done Shopping for Christmas
Today, I spent more than three hours shopping for gifts at Costco. The longest time I have spent shopping in just one store! Why? Because I was waiting for my husband who was at his dentist's appointment. At first I thought I would not be very bored, but I was wrong. I have looked for t-shirts, coats, pajamas, books and toys all over the store, but hubby was still nowhere to be found. He was at the clinic for three hours! I cannot believe it! He said they took him in as soon as he got there. They did exams x-ray, cleaning and put temporary crown, but still I think it was way too long. Good thing I bought all the things I needed to finish my gifts shopping; now I can relax after sending the packages and Christmas cards tomorrow. I would sure have a stress-free Christmas celebration this year. What about you?

Doctor's Visits and Etc....
It has been a busy week for us so far. With all the doctor's appointments hubby and I went to for the past three days, we are both exhausted! The commute itself was very tiring not to mention the long wait at the doctor's office. I am just glad it was all over... or now. Next week is another. This coming Monday is his schedule for an umbilical cord surgery and if the cyst on his back settled down before that day, they would remove that, too! We are hoping that both procedures can be done the same day. Otherwise it would be another trip to the OR for the cyst and the boil removal. Good thing we have good health care provider we can rely on when it comes to our health.

Our New PCP, Dr. Rice
Finally, we found a new PCP near home. Hubby and I met our new doctor by the name of Dr. Rice. We really like him because he was like our old one except he is a Caucasian and the old one is an Asian (Vietnamese). Since Matt and I are diabetic (Type2), we are happy to know that he is Internist, too just like Dr. Triue. He can help us manage our blood sugar; yay! Matt talked about his boil, cyst and umbilical cord hernia and was given new prescprition meds and stocking for edema on his legs. I got new prescrition for my blood sugar...insulin (quick release) that I need to take before each meal on top of my once a day lantus. I am very positive that this new prescription is going to work well with my blood sugar management. Also found out that a Filipino works there; it is always nice to meet fellow Pinoy anywhere.

We Love Our New House
When we bought a 62 year old house, my husband and I did thorough renovation in the interior of the house, thus spending a huge amount of money. We didn't realize it would cost us that much to fix it. Have we known it beforehand, we would have bought a newly built house then. The renovation includes: kitchen (floor, cabinets, paint, new appliances), new wood floor. new paints in bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and dining and living rooms. With all the hard work we put into it, we became emotionally attached to it making it hard for us to leave when it was time for us to move out.
When we were in the process of buying a new house, we got the chance to go to the showroom and pick whatever we want to put into it including the light fixtures, and the kitchen cabinets and of course the garden tub in the master bath. I chose to upgrade the shower head into a double shower head instead of the standard one they normally put in there. Then when it was time to decorate the house, I put a finishing touches like floral bath towels and a shower-stool for me since I am not tall enough to reach the shower head. So far, hubby and I like our new house and so as the community where we live. We are really close to church, school, shopping area, dentist, and friends.
