It's been awhile since my hubby bought me a flower on Valentine's Day. He doesn't buy me flowers anymore, but he still takes me to a very fancy dinner which is good. But every once in a while, I still want to receive flower whether birthday, anniversary, Mother's day or Valentine's day. A Valentine's flower delivery would be a nice surprise from him if he would think about buying me flowers at all! Anyway, I would like to get a new laptop for my birthday next month. I mentioned to him this morning that I am saving for that laptop and if I can get it, then my old one would be sent to my brother in the Philippines next month. Hope he would read this post so I would have a great birthday present!

I Love Cyber Monday!

Today is a Parents/Teacher conference at my son's school which means no school today. So after the conference this morning around 9:30am (lasted about 25 minutes), we decided to go to Chuck E Cheeses instead of watching movie (Tangled) with our son. We had so much fun playing basketball and bowling that I actually sweat a lot as if I exercise for 30 minutes! Wow, this is a good way to enjoy while we bond with Jacob. Anyway, after that fun, we went shopping at Half Price Bookstore where I bought a board game (Cranium). I really like this game because it stimulates my brain and made me think more. Then went to JC Penney where it was like a Cyber Monday. They were having an 80% off for most of their stuffs. I bought myself a pair of shoes, two blouses, and a purse. My hubby got a t-shirt while my son got a boxer short. I really saved a lot with all the stuffs I have purchased today. Oh, how I love Cyber Monday!

Is It Really A Scam?

Posted by Cecile at 1/19/2011 07:28:00 PM 3 comments
On New Years eve, my family and I attended a birthday dinner of our friend. I bought a gift for her which she really like. She loves the scarf as well as the color of it. Hubby on the other hand gave his old leather jacket to her husband for it fits him and hubby couldn't wear it anymore for it is too small for him already. Our friend on the other hand loss weight dramatically, thus making the jacket fits him perfectly. He mentioned to us that he is trying to lose weight by eating less carbs and more veggies and fruits. He gets exercise from his work by loading and unloading trucks with heavy boxes. He never mentioned anything about the diet pill called apidexin. Could it be because he learned about apidexin scam? If that is the true, why is it that this diet pill is still on the market?

Losing weight is one thing hubby and I have in common aside from eating. In just less than a week before we got married, he and I gained weight dramatically that my wedding dress hardly fits me. So, my mother in -law and her sister in-law had alter it the day before our wedding. Since then, we never wear our small sizes clothes again. Life has been very hard for us. We tried to exercise, eat less and even took quick weight loss diet, but didn't work for us since we couldn't resist foods. Now that our health is in great risk, we are taking our doctor's advices to lose weight if we are to live long and witness our only child grows. He needs us more than anything in the world and we couldn't imagine him alone because of our bad choice. Making ourselves healthy not only benefits our son, but also us.

Our Ultimate Goal for This Year!

Every time I read my friends blogs, I noticed that she keeps talking about losing weight by exercising, eating less and taking weight loss pills. She particularly mentions about how much she wanted to buy phenphedrine. I wonder whether this pill is very effective and safe. It probably is because she wouldn't keep talking about it on her blogs many times. If so, this would work with me and hubby as well since both have difficulty losing some unwanted weight/fats. It is our goal to be healthy...meaning we need to be serious about it. Exercise and diet alone wouldn't be enough. We need something like phenphedrine to really succeed with our goal. Our son needs us and so being healthy is our next priority next to our son.

Gift for Hubby

When it comes to presents for hubby, I get headache of not knowing what to give to him for he doesn't want anything. I love him and I want to give him something he would actually like and enjoy though he already told me many times that he didn't need a gift for his birthday even our anniversary. I bugged him still anyway. Before his birthday, I asked him what he wants, to my surprised, he actually told me how much he wants to have home audio speakers in our home. He loves music and would like a new speakers. And so I told him to choose one and I would buy it for him. I suggested Boise but replied saying that we can't afford it right now. We agreed that we will save for it first. Sounds good to me!

There Is Help Out There!

There are tons of stuffs that people get addicted to. There's drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, opiate and more. And for those who are in it, I say, don't lose hope. If you can't do it by yourself, then you probably need help and that is normal. Families and friends can help, but also there are many detox centers everywhere. I just wished my father would quit smoking to avoid a disease like lung cancer. Yup, am worried about him alright! I love him and want him to be healthy. Smoking also jeopardize the health of those people around him like his own family. I learned that second hand smoking is at higher risk than those who smoke themselves.

Battle Over Plantation Shutters

Back when we were looking for a new house to purchase, hubby and I had a plan on what we want to put in our house. We agreed that instead of placing window blinds, we decided that we want shades. The one the blocks the sun/heat thus helping us save money and energy. We also talked about whether we still want custom plantation shutters installed. In our old house, we had shutters and for some reason, hubby wasn't attractive to it. I like it a lot for it adds beauty to the outside of the house. Anyway, we are still battling on it and I am wishing he would agree this time.

Mouth Problems

Based on what I read on WebMd and the symptoms I have been feeling, I am pretty sure that I have gum disease and if not treated it will cause more damage on my health. I have no idea how I get this for I brush twice a day and even floss twice a day. I learned that having diabetes makes it worst and so I need to see my dentist as soon as I can before it gets worst.

Gum Disease

Red, swollen, or bleeding gums could be gingivitis, which can cause teeth to loosen and fall out. Also called gum disease, gingivitis – a form of periodontal disease -- can happen when an illness, medication, plaque, or other problem leaves gums vulnerable to bacterial infection. Prevention is the best strategy. That means daily flossing and brushing, as well as regular dental visits. Severe gingivitis may require antibiotics.

Smoking is Bad for Health

One of my favorite love story was the Romeo and Juliet and I can watch it over and over again and will never get tired of it. I just wished I have a copy of it. Anyway, I didn't know that there is a company that makes cigarettes and named one of them after the movie which is called romeo y julieta. I wonder why it was named after the love story. Those who have tried this brand of cigarettes probably know that answers why. Oh well, I will never know since I don't and will never smoke for I believe that smoking is bad for your health. I wished my Dad would stop smoking so he would never get lung disease. We love him and will never get tired praying that someday he would eventually stop slowly.

Expensive Day!

We had a busy day today. First we went to mail the gifts for my brother in-laws and his family who didn't make it to our Christmas reunion due to flight cancellation. We were all heartbroken for we were all expecting them to join us on celebrating Christmas with the whole family. The, we shopped, dropped stuffs of at Goodwill. The thing that consumed most of our day was when we have our car oil changed. When they checked everything, they've found out that the brake was all worn out and it needs a replacement badly. We've got no choice but agreed to put a brembo brake. Though we got a $125 discount, we still paid $300+... indeed today was the most expensive day so far. Things happened unexpectedly and this is one of them. Oh well, this is important and we have to have it done or not at all...it is our choice! We did the right thing for sure.

Cold Sore

Cold Sores

Also called fever blisters, you don’t get cold sores from fevers or colds but they can be triggered by them. The virus that causes cold sores is usually passed via a kiss, shared utensils, or other close contact. OTC creams and ointments may help discomfort and speed healing. Frequent sores may require a prescription. Cold sores are a top mouth problem. Other problems include canker sores, TMJ, bad breath, and mouth cancer.

This cold sore bothers me a lot. At first, I thought it was just an ordinary chapped lips, but when it didn't heal after three days of treating it with lip balm medications...I figured it is a cold sore. I hate it and the looked if it.
